Alba PCB Group: Industrial Partner in DESIRE4EU project
The ambitious DESIRE4EU project, approved by the European Innovation Council and officially launched in Grenoble on September 19, 2024, represents a significant step toward a green and sustainable electronics industry. It aligns with the European Union’s circular economy objectives, opening the door to innovative technological solutions.
The project is led by a consortium of eight internationally renowned academic and industrial partners from five European countries, with the following main objectives:
• The production and assembly of bio-based, industrially viable, multilayer PCBs fully compliant with technological standards;
• The development of efficient and sustainable bio-extraction processes for recovering valuable metals such as copper;
• The adoption of a “circular by design” approach.
Alba PCB Group plays a key role in developing the necessary technologies to manufacture the new “green” electronic boards and implementing these innovations on an industrial scale.
In this interview published in Elettronica AV, Antonello Pramaggiore, Director of Marketing and Business Development at Alba PCB Group, explains in detail the company’s role in the project and the importance of this challenge for the future of the electronics industry.
